That’s why Truvelop sends out monthly Truvelop Tips directly to the employees of each of our clients. Here’s an excerpt from February’s Employee Truvelop Tip: Find Personal and Professional Alignment.

How connected do you feel to your company’s mission, vision, and values? In a perfect world, your personal goals are completely naturally aligned with your company’s goals. With that said, it can be helpful to take the time to bridge a connection between your aspirations and impact to your organization’s mission.
Truvelop Tip: Find Personal and Professional Alignment
Have you ever heard of Ikigai? Ikigai is a Japanese concept compounded by two words: iki meaning “life” and gai meaning “result” or “value”. Hence, Ikigai means “a reason for being.” It refers to having a meaningful direction or purpose in life. Uncovering and pursuing ikigai involves building self-awareness, cultivating your inner potential, taking time to appreciate life’s joys in order to identify what the world needs, and finding in what ways your can help fulfill these needs.
Consider the following:
  • What aspects of your work bring you joy?
  • Why do you come to work each day focused and inspired?
  • What are you naturally good at? What aspects of your role come easily to you?
  • Do you understand the impact of your role?
  • Do you know the impact that your organization is having?
By reflecting on your goals and how closely they align with your organization’s goals, you can create a stronger sense of purpose, engagement, and commitment. Connect with your manager to see if they have any insights to offer on your development journey and how you can even better align your career path to your personal goals.
