Fostering High Performance Cultures with Truvelop

March 18, 2021

Yesterday, Customer Success Team Member Juliana Withers hosted Truvelop’s User Community Lunch and Learn on High Performance Cultures.  Research and advisory firm Gartner defines High Performance Cultures as “a physical or virtual environment designed to make workers as effective as possible in supporting business goals and providing value.” During the Lunch and Learn, and during an open Webinar held last week that Juliana hosted on the same topic, she took the attendees on a deep dive into what makes a High Performance Culture successful and how to implement it into an organization with the help of Truvelop.

High Performance Culture Benefits

Companies that have adopted high performance cultures have more engaged employees, better employee retention rates, better performing employees, and are overall more successful.  To define that success, Gallup found that “Organizations that have made a strategic investment in employee development report 11% greater profitability and are twice as likely to retain their employees.” With retention being such a focus in 2021, it is no surprise that adopting a High Performance Culture has been of interest to more organizations than ever before.

Employees naturally want to get better and want to have a clear performance plan to develop efficiently, so when there is an emphasis placed on performance, organizations see results.  However, it is important to note that when there is only an emphasis on results, employees risk burnout.  There needs to be a mediating factor of strong communication and trust between the manager and employee.

Culture Change Starts with Managers

With communication being such a pivotal component to a successful High Performance Culture, the day-to-day reinforcement and implementation falls to the managers.  Cultural and organizational change does not happen through all-hands meetings, emails, newsletters and strategy retreatsRather, consistent communication is the fundamental driver of culture change. Commitment from leadership to high-performance workplace practices that is backed by their actions is going to determine if a High Performance Culture can become fully integrated into all aspects of the organization.

Using Truvelop to Drive Culture Change

It has been established that communication is the driving force of successfully implementing a High Performance Culture, so how can Truvelop help?

With our employee assessment tools, Managers think about answer questions about brand representation, attitude towards co-workers, and performance.  Right away, Managers get an idea about how well this Team Member is behaving in alignment with the organization mission and if they are performing at a high level.  This gives the Team Member a baseline and a sense of direction for where they can focus their efforts.

Additionally, with Sparks, Managers can give the space for the Team Member to share their perspectives.  Two-way documented communication allows Managers to check in and track how a Team Member is progressing in terms of their development. Sparks serve as a supplement to the Evaluation process to reinforce the message from the Summary or Insight.

Truvelop is not just an employee assessment tool. It fosters stronger Manager-Team Member relationships through consistent, transparent, clear, and concise communication. Better communication leads to better performance and engagement.
