Truvelop Tip: Make a Mid-Year Check-In Meaningful

Performance check-ins don’t have to be high-stress or bulky. When managers set an agenda and have a specific goal in mind, the check-in can be efficient, productive, and increase feelings of trust and motivation in the employee.  Ready to get started? Our Mid-Year Check-In Coaching Guide could be a great place to start.

In the worksheet, you’ll notice that we’ve outlined various Objectives, an Outcome Goal, Reflection prompts, and recommended Questions to Ask during the conversation. While you don’t necessarily need all of those items to have a meaningful check-in, it can be helpful to go in with a game plan. Be sure to leave room for the Employee to guide the conversation as well, so that they feel a sense of ownership over their development.

As a Manager, you’re in the best position to influence the your team’s experience.  Inspire and retain your team by empowering them to be their best.  As we enter the second half of the year, challenge yourself to create the best possible employee experience by being the best possible leader than you can be.  Truvelop is here to support you on that journey, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with feedback or questions.
