The last quarter of the year tends to fly by. From holiday travel, to last minute deadlines, Managers and their team are busy! With that said, the end of the year is also a great time for reflection. By taking the time to reflect with their team, they’re showing their direct reports they’re invested in their development and their experience. They’re also able to renew Team Member commitment to growth and to the organization heading into the new year. Because of these benefits, our blogs for October placed a focus on creative ways to inspire your team and renew commitment from each of your direct reports.
Enjoy revisiting these blogs and the many tips and tricks included with each blog post. Please help us expand our community by following us on LinkedIn and Facebook and continue to visit Truvelop’s blog for valuable insights into best practices in performance management, real time feedback and employee engagement, and how to improve the overall employee experience.
Managers can get frustrated with underperforming team members, but in a lot of cases, the team member isn’t even aware of their deficiencies. It is important that when completing evaluations, managers include comments and notes to provide context and opportunities for improvement. Communication shouldn’t stop there. If a manager sees room for improvement, they need to communicate the issues with the employee to monitor progress frequently.
At the end/start of any quarter or performance period, it’s always a good idea to reflect on current performance. What is going well? Where do I need some additional support and guidance? How do I want to spend my time and energy going forward? As we enter the final quarter of the year, this exercise will be especially important for creating an efficient strategy that will help your team close out the year focused and inspired.
Neither managers nor employees see any value in an annual, one-sided review, and are discovering the benefits of collaboration in developing work plans and goals that help employees remain focused and motivated and help managers increase retention.
We are excited to welcome SiteForce to our growing customer base! SiteForce is the direct result of our partnership with BSCAI – Building Service Contractors Association International.
Trust ensures that employees can be confident in their work and ability to talk to managers when they are having problems, while enabling managers to know their employees are getting their work done and will talk to them if there is an issue.
Members of our team recently attended the Building Service Contractors Association International’s Contracting Success conference held in Chicago. In their three days of the conference, the Truvelop team visited with current customers, attended the networking roundtables, hosted a booth, and led a discussion on engagement to close out the conference.
Managers who simply hire employees, assign them tasks or goals, and maintain minimal communication will struggle to build a team of high-performing employees. Employees, no matter how experienced and committed they are to their job, can struggle to perform to expectations without an engaged manager.
